RIT MyCourses

A course management tool for students and professors.

Main project for NMDE-302

A hub for homework, readings and groupwork, mycourses.rit.edu is where students go to keep up on their coursework. It's gotten lots of negative reviews for being hard to navigate and not clearly organizing information. The solution was to redesign the site based on students' input and restructure the site to improve productivity.

You can view the process deck here.

What do the students think?

Deadlines, Grades and Dropboxes

The above findings are only part of the research I conducted. The students we surveyed regularly use 3 of the 7 features that MyCourses offers, and using those features was tedious. What users want most is a quick way to access content and submit assignments quickly. With that in mind I was inspired by clean dashboard interfaces and task-management applications such as trello.com
